About Our Team

Our Principles

Howie and Deb Mell, the founders of JARS Realty Partners, are a husband and wife team, married for over fifteen years. As a medical family (Howie is an emergency physician, Deb a former health administrator), they realized eight years ago that they needed a reliable passive income stream outside of medicine. 


They began purchasing single family rental properties, working to increase their value by managing and improving the properties. Determined to succeed in real estate but wanting to forego the day to day headaches of being landlords, they began passive investing in multifamily real estate, which has led to now partnering with other multifamily investors on a variety of projects. 


With more than $30 million and 450 doors in their portfolio, they founded JARS Realty Partners to focus on helping others to invest in real estate through syndication. They focus on Texas and Florida markets for multifamily. All of their assets have met pro forma projections and continue to outpace expectations. 

Deb and Howie both hold bachelor and masters degrees in public health from the University of Illinois, and Howie also holds an MD from the U of I at Rockford. They live outside of Charlotte, NC with their four kids.
